Ryan met a man at Tractor Supply who took a liking to him and invited him out to his house to ride a real tractor. Ryan, never wanting to miss an opportunity to ride a Mow-Mow, eagerly agreed, so a few days later we headed out for an afternoon with Tractor Bob and his lovely wife, Cindy. The kids fed chickens, goats, donkey, and Brahma cows. Ryan even got to help Daddy bring a big round bale of hay in for the cows...and was that ever exciting! Thank you for your warm Texas hospitality Bob & Cindy, and we look forward to visiting again!
Ryan won a little golf set at the rodeo arcade and was practicing his swing out in the front yard earlier today. I don't know anything about golf, but I think the boy's got pretty good form and he sure can connect with that ball!
Discussing the finer aspects of his game with Mom!
February is Rodeo month here in Texas! After meeting up with her cousins there for the first time, Randi insisted on getting a pink cowgirl had just like her cousin Kylie had. A friend wrote after seeing her picture and said "When a man wears a cowboy hat, they say the hat makes the man. In these pictures I think that beautiful young lady makes the hat." We tend to agree!
Pops and Bebe sent Randi and Ryan $5.00 cash in their Valentines cards, so we decided to take them to Target and turn them loose with it. Randi chose a $2.50 Hello Kitty clipboard and a $1.00 sticky pad from the dollar spot, while Ryan pondered the truck section and finally settled on the fire truck...a little over budget, but Dad said he'd give him a little loan.
Opps, wait, he changed his mind when he saw a Bob the Builder boxed set with a little tractor included in it. He needed an even bigger loan, but Dad was a sucker that day, so in the cart it went!
Randi paid for her purchases all by herself and even had change left over to put in her piggy bank when she got home.
Ryan didn't care that he'd be taking out the trash and mowing the lawn for the next month, he got that little backhoe and that's all that mattered!!!
After living here for 8 months, I finally knocked the dirt off a couple of the dogs and took them to a dog show. I showed Cha Cha for the very first time, and she actually impressed me with how well she did, taking her class at the first show and a 3rd out of 5 at the second show. Kai acted like she'd never left the ring and showed like a million bucks. The judges recognized her by giving her Reserve at the first show and Winners at the second show, but my fellow exhibitors also recognized her by giving me the most wonderful compliments on her!
Randi also showed in Pee Wee's. She did well the first night, going around the ring by herself....with a little help from the judge, thank you Melinda! But the second show she just couldn't make it out of her shell. However, I'm proud to say that when Kai went Winners and I needed help in Best of Breed, Randi rose to the challenge, took Teva in by herself, and did an awesome job showing her. I was SO proud of her!
Michael had a date tonight with his little Princess. They went to a father/daughter dance in downtown New Braunfels. All the little girls got flowers when they arrived at the hall, and there were yummy hors' douvres and beautiful decorations. Randi told me later that her favorite part of the night was twirling in her princess dress with her Daddy on the dance floor!
