Randi's First Soccer Game

Randi surprised us by saying she wanted to play soccer this year, so we signed her up to play with the New Braunfels Youth Soccer League. She had her first practice a couple of weeks ago and surprised us again by jumping right in with her new team and playing her little heart out. Her team is called the Pink Panthers and they're the envy of all the other little girl teams, not only because of the color of their uniform but because they have Anna on their team!!! This girl was born to play soccer; just look at the intensity on her face and the way she handles the ball!

Randi got in on the action and did a little ball handling of her own

In this sequence, Randi is setting the ball up for a.....

GOAL!!! Go Randi!!!

Taking a time out while her teammates continued to rack up goals

In the second half she got to kick the ball in for the first time

Coach Kevin giving her some pointers

She's not quite Anna yet, but she sure did well for her first game and we are so proud of her!

And while the girls were playing, the little guy decided to get a head start on practicing for next year! He yelled out to me "watch this mom" and proceeded to slam the ball into the goal!

I never envisioned myself as a soccer mom, but I guess it just might be in my future!
Looking forward to a great season with a great coach, a fun group of parents, and some adorable and very talented little girls!

SNOW

It snowed today in New Braunfels....and I don't mean just a few flakes here and there, it came down in a good flurry for about an hour and we actually have snow sticking on the ground!

Rodeo Auction

We went back to the Rodeo, but this time to join Papa at the San Antonio Livestock Sale. Ryan was pretty shy at first, but as the day went on, he wanted to help Papa bid on some animals.

At first, Papa had to show him how it was done...

then the auctioneer brought him up for a little lesson on bidding and bribed him with ice cream if he'd raise the bid a little bit more...

he kind of understood, but Papa still had to help a little...

then the auctioneer tried to get Randi in on the action...

not wanting to be outdone by his sister, Ryan finally figured out how to bid on his own...

he was a little tentative at first...

but then he bought himself a bird!!!

Way to go young grasshopper!

Randi with Miss Rodeo Texas!
Thank you Papa for letting us come play with the "big boys"!
