It's Rodeo Time!!!

It's that time of year again in San Antonio when you pull on your boots, put on your hat and head to the rodeo. We went on Sunday so the kids could see Selina Gomez in concert after the rodeo performance, but 15 minutes into her show, they were sound asleep on our laps. I still can't figure out how Ryan can wake up if I drop a pin in his room and yet he could sleep right through 1000's of screaming teenage girls at a rock concert! Go figure. Anyways, they loved watching the rodeo and had a great time at the carnival after they woke up from their impromptu naps!

Ryan was so excited when the show started and fireworks went off... and I was so excited that I actually got this shot capturing his expression!

I love the part of the show when they bring out this amazing team of draft horses and do an incredible demonstration of their precision and talent

But my FAVORITE part of the rodeo is when they turn the horses loose at the end and do a tribute to their majesty and freedom...it never fails to give me goosebumps!
And then there's the bulls....can you tell I was having fun with the new camera!

Randi & Raine

We went to visit Russ & Vicki last weekend.
Ryan spent most of his time on the tractor, while Randi preferred to ride this cute little paint horse. His name is Paint, but Randi preferred to call him Raine because he looks just like one of the horses in the movie Spirit.

Daddy/Daughter Sweetheart Dance

Randi has really been looking forward to the Daddy/Daughter dance, so when the big night arrived, she was on cloud 9! I loved helping her get ready, however, this year she picked out all her own accessories including her shoes, purse, jewelry and corsage braclet (it's really a hairband that came with the purse she picked out months ago specifically for this event, but Randi had her own interpretation of how it should be worn!) I can only imagine what is yet to come! I adored watching her interact with Michael as we took photos and as he loaded her into the car. He said she was terrific date and they had a wonderful time together.
