280/365 - The Sky's the Limit

When Randi won 1st place for reading the most books last week, I told her I'd take her out for dinner and Orange Leaf yogurt. The boys went to a football game tonight, so it was the perfect time for a girls night out. I let her decide where to go for dinner and she chose Panda Express. She loves their Mandarin Chicken and can eat the heck out of it. When we got done, she opened her fortune cookie and found this note inside. I thought it was quite appropriate for her right now as I keep telling her this all the time...

After dinner, we went and had yummy yogurt at Orange Leaf and then hit a few stores for a little shopping spree. We had so much fun together; spending time together with her like that is like spending time with my best friend. I sure love my girl!

279/365 - Teva goes to school

Ryan's PreK class is learning about community helpers this week, so Mrs. Kullberg asked me if Teva could come visit again to show the class how dogs help in the community. Teva is a certified Therapy Dog, and while she doesn't go to hospitals or nursing homes any more, she loves visiting the school and together we teach the kids about the many jobs dogs can do and the ways in which they help us. As always, she behaved perfectly and never flinched, even when she had a bunch of four year olds all trying to pet her at once. I think she puts up with it because she knows she's going to get a bunch of treats from them when we're all done. She is such a good girl.

Teddy has now been properly blessed...

275/365 - It's a jungle out there

We took the kids to the zoo today and had a great time looking at the animals and spending time together as a family. I sure love doing fun stuff like this with the kids as it makes me look at things in a whole new light!

274/365 - Fall is in the air

The trees here are still pretty green here, so I had to walk through the park this morning to find a few fall leaves to remind me that it really is October!
