The kids both attended the mini-Olympics at their gym last week. Since Michael has been taking them for their classes this session (because he teaches another class at the same time that they have classes), I hadn't seen them in action for a while, so it was a real treat for me to see what they'd learned and how far they'd come in just a few short months. Needless to say, they were very excited, and I was quite impressed.
Ryan has gotten so strong and is very co-ordinated. He followed direction very well, waited his turn, and was so focused when performing an exercise. He loved getting another trophy for his room, and he love, love, loves his Coach Sue, and I think she has a little sweet spot for him as well.

Randi was so excited when her group marched into the gym that I though she was going to burst a button or something. Look at that face; if that isn't pure happiness, I don't know what is!

Only she and one other girl in her group did level 2 skills, so some exercises were a challenge for her, but she never hesitated and overall did very well. I was impressed with how much she's learned, and even though I don't think being a gymnast is her calling, she is very balanced and agile....things that will help her in whatever she decides to do.

Ryan wanted to give his Sissy a rose and picked out a pretty pink one for her because it's her favorite color. After he handed it to her, he gave her a big hug. It was so adorable!

Robin, one of the owners of the gym, told me Ryan reminded her of her boy when he was Ryan's age. She said he came to work with her all the time and acted like he owned the place. She commented on how Ryan is completely comfortable and at home in the gym and called him a "little gym rat."
