I spent the weekend in the panhandle area of Florida judging for the FLPHASC (Florida Panhandlers Australian Shepherd Club). The club was fantastic to work with, the dogs were nice, the exhibitors were wonderful, and Clarissa was able to join me again, so it was a super fun weekend. As soon as we were done judging on Saturday, Clarissa and I jumped in our rental car and zoomed down to Destin so I could put my toes in the sand and water. When we first saw the sand, we thought it was snow because it was SO white, but it really was sand, and it was some of the prettiest sand I've ever seen. It squeaked when I walked on it and the water was crystal clear and oh so turquoise. I wish we'd gotten there a little earlier so we could have gone for a dip, but as it was, we got there just in time to watch the sun set and enjoy the majesty of nature at her finest. I took a moment to soak in some salt air and reveled in the sense of peace that comes over me when I'm near the ocean. We noticed a restaurant close by, so we walked over and had a delicious meal of shrimp, crab and Mahi Mahi, followed by a slice of totally decadent chocolate cake...all while sitting at a window overlooking the beach and continuing to watch the night fall over the sea. It doesn't get much better than that and it was truly a little slice of heaven on earth for me.

When I got home I learned the computer crashed over the weekend, so I've spent the last week dealing with getting a new computer, uploading everything to it (thank goodness for offsite backups), and now dealing with warranty issues to get the other one repaired, so needless to say, I am way behind...but determined to get caught back up over the next few days.

1) Your excuse for being behind is far better than mine (I had none!). I guess it's a good thing to get a new computer, right?! Hope you get it all worked out!
2) I'm so jealous of your panhandle adventure! Toes in the sand and yummy food--and a good friend to share it all with! Happy for you!
I used to live near Destin. I sure miss the beautiful white beaches of FL but not the humidity. I will stick to the brown beaches of CA and enjoy the beautiful weather. :)
there is nothing like the feel of sand between your toes!
love the ocean too! it looks like a little slice of heaven on earth with that beautiful sunset! sorry to hear about your computer! that is one of my fears and you have reminded me to back up again! ;)
I'm glad you got to dip your feet in the ocean if only for a few minutes. That sand looks unbelievable!
Looks like it was a great week-end away! I wish I lived near an Ocean, looks so beautiful and peaceful.
Beautiful. Looks like you had fun and warmed up.
Sounds and LOOKS like it was a great trip. Yep...there's nothing like sand b/t your toes. You need more of that in your life. ;)
Sorry about your computer. Technical difficulties are one of my worst nightmares. Hope it's fixed pronto.
That sounds like a most amazing evening. I hope all of the computer stuff is worked out easily :) Technology is great, when it's working. hehe
