One of Ryan's favorite things to do with Pops was to go in his office and "sneak" treats.
Pops always had a stash of candy and nuts hidden in his office, often kept in a secret box that I wasn't supposed to know about. So when I told Ryan to pick out something that reminded him of his Pops or Tutu, he thought and thought and thought about it, and when we walked in the room full of nutcrackers, he was mesmerized. We sat in that room for about an hour, looking at each one. There were big ones, little ones, funny ones, plain ones, ornate ones, and this one...and this is the one he had to have....because, for some reason, it reminds him of Pops.
