63/365 - Ryan digs tractors

This afternoon Ryan came up to me and told me he was going to make a new friend and he was going to take his shovel and dig over to him so they could play together. I had no idea what he was talking about but was just glad that he was being so creative. A few minutes later when I went out the back door, this is what I saw...

The little tractor was clearing out muck from the bottom of the wash that runs behind our house. Ryan is fascinated with tractors, so he sat there and watched it work and moved some dirt of his own around for at least 30 minutes. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take my picture for the day, so I ran back inside and grabbed my camera to capture the cuteness.

I love this picture because it's not the ordinary smiling face but more of a glimpse at everyday life. I personally get stuck only taking pics of my kids doing signifigant things and I bet when they're older they'll find pictures like this the most interesting.

Kristin, thanks for your comment. I process my images in LR. For my railroad crossing I used a preset called SarahJiRetroWarmth that I downloaded off of the one of many free LR preset sites. I adjust the saturation and luminance of the red to make it pop a little more and added a post-crop vignette. Adjusted the shadow tones, clarity and contrast. This one took quite a bit more work but I just adjust and adjust a little more till I get the result I want. Thanks again for all your nice comments.

It's a great capture! Ps (you have a no reply blogger on your comment and i can't get your email up so answering here) The dolls are "My Child" dolls made by Mattel. Depending on what sort you want they get pretty pricey though. :-)

Such an amazing capture, Kristin! Complete perfection. My boys are the same way whenever they see any type of big vehicle with wheels and moving. I love the bright colors!

Kristin- Thank you so much for the kind words on my blog. They always make me smile. We do need to work on a get together after Spring Break. It would be nice to get to know some people around here and talk photography!

As far as my header, I didn't make the design but I did drag my pictures onto it in PSE. I got the background and header from shabbyblogs.com.
