I was born in Santa Monica, California. We lived in an apartment there that I don't remember, though my Mom always reminded me of the time I drove my big wheel down a flight of stairs when we lived there! When I was about 3 we moved to San Clemente where I went to elementary school at Ole Hansen. Later we moved to Newport Beach where I went to Lincoln Junior High and then Corona del Mar High School. When I wasn't at school I was either at the horse stables or at the beach, and the beach I remember going to the most was Big Corona. We spent a few hours there today. It was sunny and warm and the water was as cold as I remembered it. It was a fun going there with my kids and thinking back on all the fun times I had there when I was a kid. It's funny how life comes full circle some times!

This picture was taken on our way home from Big Corona. The beach you see below is Little Corona; it's right next to Big Corona but is separated from it by a bunch of rocks that we loved climbing over when we were kids. This is also the beach I snuck out to the night after I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled; obviously I wasn't in too much pain!

What great memories! So happy you could share them with your kids.
Looks like they are having a blast! And oh how refreshing that water looks!!
So awesome to share the same spots with your kids. I have a feeling that when your grandkids are in the picture, Randi and Ryan will be telling them, 'this is where my mom used to hang out as a teenager'!
Looks like a busy beach. It would be fun to sit back and people watch there! :)
This is a nice beach and I love the photo. I can almost hear the tide, accompanied by the laughter.
Aww...looks like a good time! One of the things that I miss about where we live now...access to a salty beach...oh and trying to jump some waves too. :)
Oh and btw...when will you be in Colorado? ;)
Looks like fun! We're heading to the Northern California coast in a couple days... I'm thinking my photos aren't going to look anywhere near as warm as yours do :)
Great shot! I'm from New York, but BSD is from San Juan Capistrano. When we lived in San Diego, we'd go up to San Clemente. Such a gorgeous place.
Hey this one has a vintagey feel! Glad you're having fun visiting the old haunts!
Looks like they're having a great time! It's pretty cool going to the places you went as a kid and being able to show them to your kids, isn't it?
