I had a wonderful time judging in Michigan this weekend. I met some really nice people and had a chance to catch up with some old friends. The show had a large entry, so I had the pleasure of judging some nice animals. I loved the dogs I used for my winners; they were very nice representations of the breed, so I was honored to put points on them. For those of you who asked, I am a licensed judge for the Australian Shepherd Club of America. I've been judging conformation events for 15 years and obedience events for 6 years. I am what is called a Senior Breeder Judge (not because of my age, LOL, but because of the number of assignments I've done over the years.) One of my proudest moments as a judge was judging Best of Breed (similar to Best in Show) at the Australian Shepherd National Specialty (the largest Australian Shepherd show of the year with over 2000 Aussies competing in one location); it truly was an honor and an experience I'll never forget. I enjoy judging because I feel it's a way I can give something back to the breed that has given so much to me.
At the end of the day, right after the show finished, someone told me it was snowing, so I grabbed the little p/s and headed outside. I think a few people thought I was crazy for taking pictures of snow falling from the sky, but I just couldn't help myself because it's such a rare treat for me to see such a simply beautiful sight.

This is beautiful Kristin! You obviously know how to handle that PS. Did you use a flash to light up the snowflakes? I'm glad you are home safely. I was going to ask if you were judging only Aussies. You must have been in your element all weekend for sure. They are beautiful dogs.
