179/365 - Rocket Boy

For the last couple of months I've been trying to get Ryan to tell me how he wants to decorate his new room. He doesn't want trains, or dinosaurs, or tractors, or sports, cowboys or super hero's. We finally got him to agree to some fun Hawaiian themed bedding from Pottery Barn (he liked it because it has semi naked hula girls on it) and he was willing to go along with a surfing themed bedroom, but I could tell he wasn't overly excited about it. Well, a few days ago, I stopped at Hobby Lobby to get something, and while we were there Ryan spotted an Outer Space painting and loudly said "Mom, I love that picture so much that I want to marry it"! I was a little sad because I was making some progress on his "other" bedroom, but I was also so excited that he finally found something he loved. So, I bought the painting and then came home, got on line, and ordered some cute bedding and accessories to match. The first couple of boxes arrived today and you would have thought it was Christmas around here! Ryan ran out to meet the UPS man, and then proceeded to open the boxes right in the middle of the driveway. After we got the boxes open, he wanted set everything up in his room. We're still waiting on a couple more things, so I'll wait to post a photo of his "space room" later, but in the meantime, here's a few of him opening his new treasures.
