Today's photo assignment was to capture something we "Love to Hate" about our loved one. I thought long and hard about it and since my kids are perfect (ha!), I figured I'd have to take a picture of Michael doing something I hate. The first thing that came to mind was him picking his toenails. I hate it and it absolutely drives me nuts. But the thought of taking a picture of him doing it just about sent me over the edge. It's like nails on a chalkboard to me, and I just couldn't bring myself to ask him to purposely do something that sends me into orbit. So, I figured telling you about it was torture enough and instead decided this is what I truly want to share from this day.
Tonight was the annual Daddy/Daughter Sweetheart Dance. Michael has taken Randi the last two years, and they both love going. Randi has been looking forward to it for weeks, deciding what to wear, which handbag to take, how she wanted to do her hair and letting me know she wanted to wear the angel earrings that Tutu gave her. And if you asked her this week what she was doing this weekend, she would have told you she was going "on a date" with her Dad....getting all giddy and silly in the process. I love that she gets so excited about it and that Michael loves taking her. I love watching them getting ready together like a little married couple. I love how he holds her hand and opens her door and treats her like a little lady on her special night. And I love how she glows when she comes home knowing she is one of the luckiest little girls in the world to have a Daddy that loves her with all that he is.

That is soooooo unbelievably sweet! I know BSD would be SO into doing that. Where is the dance held?
The dance is held here in our little town at the same sight where they hold the annual beer drinking extravaganza! It has an indoor hall plus a large outdoor area where they do carriage rides too...another highlight of the evening, but I wasn't able to get a picture of that...boo hoo.

Date nights are so important for a daddy and his daughter. Kudos to him for doing this.. just look how happy he made his little princess. Beautiful!!
What a special night for them. It is great she got that alone time with dad. Little girls need that and never seem to outgrow that need.
