Michael bought my first engagement ring from Walmart for $14.95. We'd been dating for about 14 years and neither of us were in a hurry to get married, but one year when we were vacationing in Padre Island, he felt the need to formalize things, so he went to Walmart and bought a ring and later proposed to me when we were fishing on the bay at sunset. He was baiting my hook and reached into his tackle box for something and came out with the sweetest little ring I'd ever seen. Several months later we went shopping for a real ring, which is the center band of this set. I'm a simple girl with simple taste and this ring was really BIG for me at the time, but I got used to it and just recently we added the two outside bands to represent each of our children, which have completed the circle of our life together.
Randi reminded me that I needed to take my picture for today and has always adored my wedding ring, so I only thought it was appropriate to have her help me with this shot.

That is such a sweet story and such a sweet picture. My dad bought my mom's engagement ring from the five and dime store. You can't really see the diamond but she adores it. :)

I love this. I remember loving my mom's wedding band as a kid & now my daughter asks all the time if she can try on mine. Is it true all girls really do dream of being married? Even if they don't realize it...?
