Sorry this is long and so picture heavy, but we made a little bit of history here on Friday. We don't normally get snow and the last couple of times it has happened, it's just been a mild dusting that doesn't stick for long. The last time there was any measurable snowfall in our town was back in 2004, so this was a really big deal for us....and a lot of fun too.
On Thursday morning before the kids left for school, Ryan asked if we could say a prayer to God for snow. He's been asking for months if we could go somewhere to see some of the white stuff and the possibility of it happening right here was making him super excited. So Friday morning when he woke up to a blanket of snow on the ground, he was very, very happy. After looking out the window, he turned to Michael and said, "God flipped the right switch!"
We spent the morning playing in the snow. Throwing snowballs, making snow angels, sledding down the hill behind our house, and going back inside to get warm. Michael even made the kids snow cones out of snow with food coloring and sprinkles...and the kids thought they were delicious! The day was darn near perfect....a nice little break in our normal routine and true gift for a little boy who believed so hard that his wish actually came true!
Note added on 2-6-11: Looking back at the below pictures and videos, I realize it doesn't appear we'd be able to sled on such a small amount of snow, but before the snow we had a freezing rain which caused the hill to be very icy and slick. So, in all reality, we were ice sledding and really didn't need much snow to be able to do it.

LOVE the snow angel, like everyone else!!! Brogan made a decent snow angel at our house & as I was running (okay, walking quickly..I don't run) over there, he hopped up and smeared it all with his boots. Does that warrant a time-out? ;) Argh!!!!!! I knew you'd have lots of great pics from that day!!
