Today's prompt is "Where". Where you first met your loved one, where you got married or where you had your baby(s). I'm a thousand miles away from those places, so instead I took a picture of where I am right now. This is where I am, this is who I love and this is how I feel...
Even though I can't go to Oahu and take a picture of the campus or of the dorms where we met, I can tell the story of where our hearts became one. I mentioned in an earlier post that I met Michael at the campus dumpsters when I was taking out my trash. I later invited myself to dinner when I stopped by his dorm room looking for his roommate (actually it was an excuse to see Michael again) and saw that he was making chicken fried steak with all the fixings. The man knows how to cook! The next day I told him I was going to see a movie on campus (Body Heat with William Hurt and Kathleen Turner) and asked if he wanted to go with me. He said yes and, being the gentleman that he was, he bought my $1.00 ticket. I don't remember much about the movie, but I do remember going to the Japanese Gardens on campus at the University of Hawaii at Manoa afterwards and sitting for hours watching orange clouds float across the sky as a beautiful full moon rose and lit up the night. We talked for hours and hours about anything and everything. I'd never been so comfortable and at ease with another person in my whole life. We shared so many of the same experiences and dreams that it was like talking with myself, and the more we talked, the more connected we became. In my heart, I knew magic was happening that night. I knew he was the person I was meant to be with. And even then, I knew we were destined to share a love that would withstand the test of time. That was 30 years ago, and I'm just as in love with him today as I was that night when he first held my hand and looked deep into my eyes and made my soul soar like no one else had ever done! That is where our hearts became one.

Ahh, Kristin, what a wonderful post! It is just so sweet and fun to hear another person's love story!! I really love the shot too and how the tall grass almost looks paintbrushed on!! Gotta love those mesquite too?!
Awww, you guys have such a romantic story! BTW, you must have date night and see that movie again! Body Heat is excellent (a very hot movie, which probably added fire to your date! LOL)
Love your picture, too! It captures the dreamy, romantic feeling of your post!
LOVE this shot, it's softness and the story.
Sounds exactly like my husband and my story! We talked all through the night, safe comfortable feeling, and knowing "I would marry someone like him." Yes, I knew that night! We've been married for 18 yrs now.
Love this!

Kristin,
More than anything....you have found out what is really important....true love and real communication...and don't you ever forget it. This is what you must cling to...hold close to your heart and value forever. Never take it for granted. It could be taken from you in a minute. This is what is truly precious. Love it, recognize it, and count your lucky stars for it. Never stop being grateful for what you have. Always be grateful for what you have. Money, good looks, personality, could never buy what you and Michael have.
